What's New for 2019?

While it's common for new model year editions to see a few subtle changes, maybe a few updated tech offerings and some design upgrades, with the 2019 Silverado 1500 you'll get a full redesign. This means you'll have eight trim levels - more than previous versions - with some new advanced features available, and a new build that makes the truck both lighter and more durable thanks to the use of high-end materials and precise engineering. A range of engine choices have been revised with a diesel option due out later in the model year release. Inside, the new Silverado 1500 sees some welcome upgrades to its infotainment systems, giving you a better optional touchscreen that's clearer to read and use. For crew cab setups, you'll get even more leg room than what was offered previously.

Performance and Capabilities

There are a variety of engines available for the new Silverado 1500 here in the Mt. Airy area. You'll start off with a base-level 4.3-liter V-6, while there's a turbocharged four-cylinder and a pair of V-8 engines you can choose, the largest of which is a 6.2-liter V-8 that gives you 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. As always, a dynamic 4x4 system is available if you want more versatility for your driving around Kernersville and Lexington, as well as selectable drive modes for when you're towing and hauling. Speaking of towing and hauling, each version has its own specifications, but you'll max out with a top payload rating of 2,430 pounds with the 5.3-liter V-8, and a max towing rating of 12,200 pounds with the 6.2-liter V-8 engine.

Safety and Technology

While your focus should primarily be on your truck's performance and capabilities, as well as choosing the right cab setup and bed size, the new 2019 Chevy Silverado still provides the expected range of features you'll find across our Winston Salem dealership's lineup. As we mentioned earlier, there are even more trim levels to choose from starting with the well-equipped base WT model. This includes standard touchscreen controls, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a USB port. Moving up from there will add a larger touchscreen, upgraded audio equipment, a 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, dual-zone climate control and much more.

On the safety front, you'll be able to add front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic control, as well as varying levels of an advanced rearview camera. For certain kinds of towing with special trailers, you'll want to consider the Silverado 1500 edition that comes with special tow mirrors, integrated suspension connections and more.

There are plenty of ways to outfit the all-new 2019 Chevy Silverado, and we'll be here in the Greensboro and High Point area to match you up with the perfect model for your towing and hauling needs. When you're ready, come on over to Modern Chevrolet today and we'll be more than happy to go over your options and take you out for a test drive.
